Okay, Jan finally did it. I'm ROLLING MY EYES AT YOU.

Pay money to have them send you fresh fruit. Pay -money- to have them send you fresh fruit. Pay money to have them -send- you fresh fruit.

AHHHHHH

I pay to apple pick, past that we have so many wild berries on the land I can't use it all.

Get out and pick, woman!

I noticed the strawberry's looking fresher on the grocery shelves today. I'm hoping to find a Saturday this spring and go Strawberry picking.. there is NOTHING like fresh strawberries that you can pick yourself.

There is a farm not to far away.. about 30 minutes.. that is not only a co-op.. you can pay a few hundred dollars and each week you get a bag of freshly picked veggies along with recipes from spring till first frost.
You can also go to this farm and pick the bounty yourself and pay by the pound. We have gone there for raspberry's, strawberry's, black berries, apples, pumpkins.. It is a lot of fun.. they have live animals to pet and feed.. http://www.greatcountryfarms.com/

I always love the time of year when fresh fruit is readily available. If you are anything like me, I crave them all winter and by the time they are in markets I could buy each and every variety. Here is one of my favorite ways to serve fruit.

Decorative Fruit Bowl.

1 Watermelon
1 bunch of red grapes (seedless)
1 bunch of white grapes (seedless)
1 cantaloupe
1 honeydew
5 peaches
(any other fruit you like)

Cut your watermelon in half and remove the contents. I normally cut the edible bits into cubes. I also cube the honeydew and cantaloupe. I slice the peaches and leave the grapes whole. I use the watermelon for my bowl. Mix all of your fresh fruits into the watermelon half and chill.
One key note here: Make sure the watermelon you choose is rather flat on the bottom or you can use a holder designed to keep them upright.

How often do you cook?
With today's busy lifestyle, it can be hard to prepare healthy meals for the family. Are you a take-out kind of person or perhaps a heat and eat chef!
