I do not like notebooks, I prefer laptops. I hate to carry external cd/dv drives. My favorite size laptop is 15' (nice size), lighter weight, dvd burner with a new extended battery. Always, make sure to have a nice RAM at least 2 Gig if you have Windows Vista. Any kind of laptop is good, except for the gateway. If you Gateway laptop breaks, the parts are very expensive and difficult to find.

They're so appealing at that tiny size. My Macbook AIR is very light so I know I won't get one, but these tiny form-factor computers just fit anywhere it seems. The thing is, there's so little memory that I figure I'd spend my time moving things off them. And getting confused about which computer I was using when. But for travel, conferences, that sort of thing...I think they'd be great. -- Make friends with the facts.

Recently, I bought an Asus Eee netbook from Amazom.com. The price was great. It weighs about 4 pounds. Has a battery life of 9-10 hours. The keyboard takes a bit of getting used too. I type by sight, so when I use the smaller keypad I have to check my spelling often. I did buy an external dvd/cd drive. Are you thinking of buying a netbook?
