Mark Williams started up a league this season. I just saw some e-mail to the staff list one day saying there were some openings, so I jumped on it.

I don't think there's any way for you to actually check out how the league is going unless you have one of the teams. I'm not sure if there is some kind of observer option, I've never checked it out but I will look into it.

As far as how the game is played, during football season I use my blog here on the community Center as kind of a weekly fantasy football article. I wrote one earlier this year about the liveworld league specifically as far as how the game is played. Check it out here:

it's really fun! You draft different players from different NFL teams to make your own "team", then if those players score in the real NFL games, you get points for your team. That's a real simple explanation, basically every league has different variations on rules, but it makes pretty much every game exciting. I might not normally be interested in Philadelphia versus the Giants, but I have a running back playing in one of my leagues for Philadelphia, so suddenly I want to watch the game. Or if my opponent has somebody going in Houston versus Atlanta, then I want to keep tabs on that game.

And you don't even have to be a huge football geek to play :) like Robin said, she pretty much drafted players from her favorite team, so you can have fun knowing that when your team scores for real, it's getting points for your fantasy team.

and true, my team did crush Robin this week, but if we had played the week before, she would have beaten me! Just like real football, anybody can beat anybody on any given day :)

I don't know a thing about fantasy football. :) Good luck and keep us posted as to who won! I didn't even know we had teams. Where do I go to check it out?

in what is sure to be an epic confrontation, the two fantasy football teams owned by Moderation Services coordinators go head to head this week to battle for supremacy!

I might be biased since my team is going to crush Robin's;) but here is my breakdown of the matchup:

quarterbacks

Tom Brady versus Jeff Garcia

Garcia is having a decent year so far, but Brady is off the chain. The edge goes to Brady and the Flood

running backs

Stephen Jackson versus Jamal Lewis

Before the season I would've said Stephen Jackson handsdown, but at this point right now, I'm actually giving a slight edge to Lewis and Robin

Adrian Peterson versus Willis McGahee

Both have been performing well and both are facing similar opposition this week, this one is a push.

wide receivers

Chad Johnson versus Sam Hurd

Chad is leading the league in receptions and receiving yardage, big edge to the Flood

Sanntonio Holmes versus Isaac Bruce

Holmes is on his way up, Bruce is on his way down, slight edge to Holmes

flexed position

Brandon Jones versus Ladell Betts

these two are pretty close and they are both playing similar competition, this one is another push

tight ends

Heath Miller versus Todd Heap

Heap Is one of the top three scoring tight ends today, he gets the edge for Robin

kickers

Jeff Reed versus Jeff Wilkins

Jeff has been having a pretty good season so far, and Jeff has been let down by his team in the lack of scoring, slight advantage to Jeff for the flood :)

defensive team

Baltimore is one of the top three defenses, but Dallas IS playing against Rex Grossman, still, slight advantage to Baltimore.

And there you have it, look for the air power of the Flood to be the deciding factor in this game
