Up my way in PA or in Delaware? Up here we have Hershey Park which is loads of fun! Many people come for a long weekend. There's a lot to see and do. They even have a zoo :) I know there was an amuzement park near Dewey, but I can't recall too much about it. I seem to think it was a water park. There's probably more of that sort of thing in Rehoboth, which like I said, is only a stones throw away from Dewey.

It sounds like a nice beach Kathleen.
Do you have many amusement parks up that way?
I would love to find some zoos that aren't too far away too.

I don't know if you'd want to travel this far, but Dewey Beach in Delaware is beautiful. It's very quiet, clean and very family oriented. You can see the boardwalk for Rehobeth beach and it's close enough to walk. My family used to own a house there. We spent many a summer there!

With summer coming up, I am sure many family vacations will be planned. As a child we visited the beach, mountains and amusement parks often.

The last time I was at Disney World in Florida was back in the late 80's. We never made it to EPCOT though. I am sure much has been added since then. Anyone been there recently and have the scoop on the newer attractions?

Another popular place on the east coast is Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, home of Dollywood! I just love to walk up and down Gatlinburg and visit all the shops. Cades Cove and Ogle's Water Park are other places we visit when in Tennessee.

The kids love the beach. We prefer the beaches on the outer banks of NC to Myrtle beach though. It just feels more laid back there. The kids love the ocean and I love the relaxing without running all over the place. What other beaches can you recommend for relaxing that aren't real commercial?

Where are some of your favorite places to take family vacations and what types of things are there to do?
